Moment

User your past moments to better the next

Project Description

The Problem

Staying motivated can be a difficult challenge with new assignments popping up daily. That vow of doing better the next exam, or the validation of achieving your goals can fade quickly in anyone's fast paced life.

The Proposal

By creating an Android App that lets you record moments of achievements and failures, we allow users to draw on past moments and use them as motivation for future endeavors. By setting up a recursive notification function within a time interval, we can help remind users consistently whenever they want.

The Process

Moment was created using Android Studio, Java and Google Firebase.

My Role

My part in this project was integrating Google’s Firebase Analytics API, recursive notifications, settings and the UI/UX of the application.

Components

First Time Opening

The first screen that appears when you first open the application is the tutorial screen filled with instructions on how to use the application.

Main Screen

The main screen allows users to access all the part of the application. From the top left we have the refersher tutorial, top right - the settings, bottom left - a place to add positive moments, bottom middle - a list of all moments, bottom right - a place to add negative moments, and in the middle a daily helpful tip.

Refresher Tutorial

The referesher tutorial explains the buttons and the application if the user forgets.

Settings

Flexible notification schedule. Allows users to choose when you receive their first moment of the day, when thier moments end, and how often they receive them!

Positive/Negative Moments

Allows users to input their own personal struggles and successes to motivate them on their future endeavors. It also provides daily quotes that you can share to their friends to inspire others.

All Moments

Allows users to see and edit all their moments. They can also filter their moments to help them track down their specific moments.
